Houses for Sale in Lakeside and Northside

Richmond’s Next Hot, Up-and-Coming Neighborhood

Richmond’s Northside is expansive as it is charming, full of a large stock of historic housing, some of which is Sears kit housing–that’s right, ordered right out of the catalog–characterized by their foursquare and arts and crafts style with large, wrap-around porches. The once suburban outpost sprung up in the early part of the twentieth century due to the extension of Richmond’s streetcar lines, and the rows of tree-lined streets are peppered with local shops and restaurants, a concentration of which can be found in the Bellevue neighborhood.

The Northside area is heating up, with many newly-remodeled properties coming on the market in the past few years, but also a great value for the money.

Northside neighborhoods include Barton Heights, Bellevue, Ginter Park, Washington Park, Hermitage Road, Highland Park, Sherwood Park, and others.

Cabell’s Take

Richmond’s Northside is an eclectic suburb that’s centrally-located and has a stock of well-built, historic housing that’s still relatively affordable and provides great value for the size of the homes. It’s a great time to buy in any Northside neighborhood, where prices are expected to rise over time as more homes are flipped and the population continues to grow–this is a great spot to get in on an investment purchase!
